The Top 5 Things That Create Fulfillment
To live your best life possible, you need to find financial success, however, it is also equally important that you find fulfillment in life.
Here are the top 5 things that will help you create fulfillment from the Team at Affinity Wealth Management:
Today, we tend to plan out every second of the day, and we’ve convinced ourselves that doing nothing is a bad thing. Taking an hour to do something that may seem selfish, reading for fun, getting a massage, taking that exercise class, or even just sitting on the couch and daydreaming can actually lead to a more fulfilling day, and that has a compounding effect. Focusing inward for a bit each day, or setting time aside each week can actually refresh you and lead to a more fulfilling day, week, month at work, or home with your family.
Giving up the things for which you have no control over can be liberating and fulfilling. You have no control over who wins an election, how much money your friend makes, or what your life will be like in 10 years. I don’t suggest a fatalistic approach to life but focusing on the things that don’t affect our day-to-day life, or that we can’t change are two huge time wasters. In being cognizant of this, you can put your time and energy into more positive things like volunteering, or spending time with family and friends, or other positive activities.
Focus on others. Often fulfillment can be found by focusing on others or causes and how we can bring greater ease and happiness to their world at large. An example of this is through volunteer work.
Relationships in life are extremely important in helping us find happiness and fulfillment. Reach out to the people who are most important to you. Reach out to family members that you may not have spoken to in a while. Pick up the phone and call your old college friends or someone you have been out of touch with for a while, just to say hi. Rekindling these relationships can give us a sense of who we are and hopefully reconnect us to our past.
Create a plan. Planning can aid in turning your ideas and desires into reality. Take a quiet moment, grab a notebook, think about your goals and write down when you want to achieve them. It could be a week, month, year, 5 years or even 10 years. Don’t forget to write down the steps and resources you may need along the way. Stay positive and don’t get discouraged by set-backs as the path to fulfilment is not always a straight line. The fact that you have a document to keep yourself accountable and focused is half the battle.
Sometimes it is the little things in life that provide the most satisfaction and enjoyment. Following these 5 steps can be the start of living your life more full.
