Virtual Learning During COVID-19
BY JAMES E. HALL JR., CFP®
The world has truly changed over the last two months. So many things we took for granted are now a distant memory. Things like going to a Phillies game, a trip to the mall, eating out at our favorite restaurant to name a few. We instead are now abiding by social rules that many felt were unthinkable. I am sure we will eventually get back to normal, but from where I am sitting, not soon enough.
Unfortunately, it is not only our personal lives that have changed, but also our financial lives. New rules have been implemented in the form of the Secure Act, which I have written on before and now new rules and changes due to COVID-19.
As a financial advisor it is my responsibility to keep up with these many changes and keep you informed as to how they may affect you. Affinity Wealth Management promotes a culture of curiosity and each advisor is constantly learning and pursuing additional knowledge that they bring back and share with your team of advisors.
Just last week I attended a two-day virtual conference held by Ed Slott and Company. Ed Slott is the nation’s leading source of accurate, and timely IRA expertise and analysis to financial advisors, institutions and consumers. As an Ed Slott, Master Elite advisor I am invited to attend two yearly conferences designed specifically to provide the Elite Advisor group up to date tools resources and information to help their clients make good decisions. Last week’s conference was intended to be held in Baltimore but due to the current social distancing rules it was held virtually.
The conference was full of updates on all the new rules regarding the Secure Act, the Cares Act and additional COVID-19 driven rules and opportunities. I have attached an informational piece you may find helpful as you attempt to navigate the new financial rules, we are faced with.
Good information and advice are critical to your financial well-being during difficult times. Please feel free to reach out to your advisor, if you have any questions.
